Aji-bo Kamanza味房かまん坐 — Wine & washoku in a Kyoto machiya
Fish bought fresh each morning, a charcoal irori grill, and wines chosen by our sommelier. Take your time beneath the warm light of a Kyoto machiya.
Concept
A seasonal plate and a good glass,
by the light of a machiya.
Aji-bo Kamanza sits in the heart of Kyoto, near Nijo Castle and the Kyoto Imperial Palace. Behind the lattice door, a traditional machiya glows with warm light.
Fresh seafood bought every day, irori charcoal grilling, and home-style dishes made with house-made dashi and soy sauce — unpretentious, but always delicious. Whether you are traveling or just stopping by after work, this is a place to unwind.
Many of our guests come on the recommendation of hotels and ryokan nearby, and we are delighted to welcome visitors from all over the world. We have an English menu; please note that our staff speak Japanese only.

04
Wine by our sommelier
Wines chosen by our sommelier to flatter washoku, from single-glass pairing sets to a three-glass pairing course.
