Wine & Sommelier

Washoku and Wine, Matched in a Kyoto Machiya

Aji-bo Kamanza — an izakaya with a wine sommelier.

Marriage

Wines chosen by our sommelier
to flatter Japanese food

Dashi, soy sauce, the smoky aroma of charcoal — the delicate flavors of washoku pair surprisingly well with wine. At Kamanza, our sommelier selects wines to match each dish, so you can enjoy the marriage of Japanese cuisine and wine in the calm of a Kyoto machiya.

From a single-glass pairing set to a three-glass pairing course, there is an easy way in for everyone. You do not need to know anything about wine — simply tell us what you like, and we will suggest a glass.

  • Selected by our sommelier to match each dish
  • From a single glass — perfect even for solo diners
  • Bottles from ¥3,600 · glasses from ¥700

From the Sommelier

Not sure about wine? That’s perfectly fine.

Light today, rich today — our sommelier will choose a glass to suit your dish and your mood. Bubbles with sashimi, white with yakitori, red with beef tendon stew. We think you will be pleasantly surprised.
